Danielle lived publically with a different text mask on her face per day for six months in 2004.

Text was chosen in the same way you would choose clothes to wear for the day. It would depend on where you were going and your feelings before leaving the house. She would apply these same principals for choosing a phrase for the day as part of her outfit. 

She would wear the mask for the rest of the day and night. Eyeholes were cut into the lettering.

She didn't wear the masks at home, in her studio, in banks or airports.
